I believe that techniques that use aversion therapy (focussing on the unpleasant elements of being a smoker) are only effective for a finite period. I would like to suggest to your subconscious mind that being a non-smoker is an experience that you will enjoy more and more each and every day.

Consider the fact that you actually are a non-smoker already, because most of the time you are not smoking. Unless you are smoking right now, (I don’t mind if you are!) then you have been a non-smoker ever since you had your last cigarette (even if that was only five minutes ago.) In between cigarettes you exist and breathe just like any other non-smoker. We can focus on making the intervals between cigarettes longer, so that you are a non-smoker for most of the time. A large part of this addiction is in the mind. You can change your conscious and subconscious attitudes and beliefs. Think like a non-smoker. Remember, smoking does not relax your body.
How many sessions will it take?
Becoming a non-smoker can take between one and four hypnotic sessions but most people stop smoking after the first session.
Some people prefer to cut down gradually. This is because you didn’t start by smoking twenty a day. You probably just started with one or two cigarettes, so if you choose, we can gently reduce the amount that you smoke – as gently as you began. You can work at your own pace. I use an approach with up to four phases;
Session 1 – Promotes mental calmness, physical relaxation and confidence, allowing you to stick to your decision.
Session 2 - Puts you back in control, with targeted suggestions for reducing the number of cigarettes further.
Session 3 - Increases the power of the previous programs, focussing on your successes.
Session 4 - Locking in all of the suggestions, remaining a non-smoker. Enjoying your achievement!
